COURSE SYLLABUS: Utilizing Google to Teach and Learn (ED 595 G)
Instructor: Chris Radtke

Learn how to improve your Google knowledge and skills. This class provides training on Google topics including Gmail, Keep, Calendar, Drive, Documents, Slides, Drawings, Chrome, and more. The G Suite will help you find anything, organize your work, create meaningful assignments and lessons and communicate with others.

Instructional activities include presentations highlighting key aspects of the range of Google tools available, the design and completion of a Google document, Google drawings, Google slides and Google Keep notes. In addition, students will utilize Google calendars and discover the connection between their calendars and other Google tools. Another tool offered by Google is GoogleMyMaps that allows teachers to integrate map skills into their lessons. Students use various websites to guide the instruction and design lessons utilizing the tools presented.

For each Google tool, students are expected to create their own unique example of that tool in action. Ideally these are then available for use in the classroom. At that time they will be able to further develop their skills and extend their learning with edits and rewrites to make theses lessons valuable and useful to them in their teaching practice.
